Tammy McCottry, the Media Mogul, is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. On August 20, 2020, Tammy returned to her television roots as the Executive Producer and Host of the "Tammy", Your Story, Your Community The show is produced by Tammy Media Group and live streams weekly at 7:00pm.
Tammy is very transparent and wants the viewers to be inspired, ignited and revolutionized to tell their unique stories and share what is happening in their communities. Tammy also works with clients that trust her to show them strategies on how to promote their businesses in media and produce successful events.
Tammy is the CEO and Executive producer of her media and event management production, public relations and consulting company Tammy Media Group (TMG). In 1998, Tammy founded her production company, McCottry Productions, Inc. (MPI) and it quickly gained recognition in neighboring states based on its proven record of quality and integrity of service. McCottry Productions, Inc., produced the talk show, “The Single Parent Corner” hosted by Tammy for four years. The award winning

Tammy was the host and executive producer of the “Tammy” Show which aired on FOX 24 and was produced by Tammy Media Group. The show featured one on one interviews with individuals of interest and focused on topics that are important to women and their families. The “Tammy” Show also aired on Comcast Cable for 10 years and her self-produced television show, “The Single Parent Corner” on the UPN and NBC networks for 5 years. “The show featured guests from non-profit and community organizations, community leaders and individuals who discuss topics including arts, education, health, literature and other human interest stories. She has had the opportunity to interview politicians and celebrities. Tammy has been featured multiple times on the cover of the Comcast Channel Guide for her accomplishments in the media industry as well as other local and statewide magazines. Formerly Tammy co-hosted along with SC State Representative David Mack, III, the PM Urban Edition, a radio community talk show. She is currently the guest co-host on the David Mack Radio Talk Show.
Tammy is a dynamic and enthusiastic motivational speaker and has delivered hundreds of seminars, commencement and keynote speeches for colleges, non-profit organizations, churches, and corporations. Tammy was the keynote speaker at the SC Governor’s mansion for the SC Adoption Regions conference. Her messages are inspirational and interactive. Tammy has served as mistress of ceremonies for many events. She has shared the podium with the late Coretta Scott King as well as Judge Mabelean Ephraim, the former judge of the national syndicated show, “Divorce Court”.
Recently, Tammy was recognized as one of the 2020 Influential African American Women on LinkedIn. Tammy was also selected by the Southeastern Chamber of Commerce to serve as the 2020 Ambassador of the N.E.N.O. Summits. Tammy is the author of her book , Love for Our Daughters: From A Mother’s Heart.” The book is a warm engaging series of letters from a mother to her teenage daughter with a healthy dose of timely advice.
Tammy founded and organized The Parents Corner USA (PCUSA), a 501(C)(3), non-profit organization. The mission of PCUSA is dedicated to helping parents and their children restructure the family unit by giving them the tools needed to encourage the development of the moral fiber, character and family values which is targeted to economically disadvantaged parents and at risk youth. PCUSA also established a yearly initiative, The National Women and Girls Summit, which focuses on teaching women and girls on how to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Tammy is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Order of the Eastern Stars Unity Chapter #370, The National Association of Television Producers and Executives. She also served on the board of The Charleston Concert Association, The National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer, just to name a few. In addition, she was also a former Board member of the Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center, Florence Crittenden Homes for Girls, The Exchange Club, and the former program director for Charleston Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
Tammy continues to stay focused on community needs. November 19th was proclaimed “Tammy McCottry Day” by the Honorable Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. of the City of Charleston. The honor was bestowed because of her unselfish service and work in the community. Recently she received the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Picture award from SC State Rep. Wendell Gaillard and was presented an award from the SC Senate for going above and beyond the call of duty in her community. She is the proud mother of her daughter, Catherine a Johnson C. Smith University honor graduate and entrepreneur.
Tammy’s philosophy and goal is to believe always in yourself, trust only in God, and make a difference in the lives of others through inspiration and knowledge.
